George Krahn - Personal Bio

Christian, Husband, Father, Marketing Agency Owner, Canadian Mexican

Christian

I intentionally use the above descriptors about myself in that order.  My faith actually determines the hierarchy of the rest of the things in my life.

When I was young, I just innocently believed in God.  As I grew older, I discovered overwhelming evidence of a higher power.

Specific things such as the following examples solidified my beliefs:

1. The statistical probability of life being impossible if any number of things in the world would be a little more or a little less than they are.

2. All codes that we know of follow the rules of coding and have a coder who created the code.  DNA has been proven to be a code.

3. There is scientific, secular evidence that the man name Jesus existed, that he physically died, and he became alive again & was seen by many people afterwards.

I love God, my creator & redeemer, and know that he has an amazing plan for each one of us.  I believe that he blesses each of us with unique spiritual gifts.

Husband

My wife, Helen (pictured above), is the next most important thing in my life.  I love her and she loves me!

This wonderful woman truly understands me, supports me, and makes up for all of my weaknesses.  I am so fortunate to have her by my side.

She is my life partner and we were joined together not just in the law, but spiritually as well when we got married on July 22, 2001.

Father

Helen & I have 3 children:  Nicholas, Kathleen, and Grace.  I love them with all my heart and I'm proud of each one of them.

Raising 3 kids has been one of the most challenging things in my life.

I do my best to be a good dad.  I try to discipline my kids fairly and teach them how to be good humans.

As a father, it helps me to understand that our Heavenly Father wants the best for us, just like I want the best for my kids.  However, it's still challenging to go through all the tests & trials that are meant to teach us and discipline us.

Marketing Agency Owner

I won't go into a lot more detail about my identity as a marketing agency owner since there is lots of info about that on my professional bio and the rest of this website.

There are only a few things that I will add.  My marketing agency is a bit like a 4th child.  It's something that I created in 2009 and it's an important part of my life.

I believe I am fulfilling my life's purpose by doing this work that is valuable and necessary in the world marketplace.  It still ranks lower in importance than my family though.

Canadian Mexican

I was born in Coaldale, Alberta, Canada on September 28, 1980 to John & Anna Krahn.  Although I was raised and lived for most of my life in southern Manitoba in Canada.

My great grandparents were Mennonite immigrants from Prussia (now known as Ukraine) and they settled in southern Manitoba in the late 1800's where some of my grandparents were born.

In the 1920's, my grandparents were part of a group that emigrated from Canada to the state of Chihuahua in northern Mexico.  Chihuahua borders the American states of Texas and New Mexico.

The reasons that this group emigrated from Canada were because of their pacifist beliefs regarding participating in World War I and their desire to continue their private education.

So that's why my father, who had Canadian parents, was born in Chihuahua, Mexico.

My dad grew up in the Mennonite colonies that were segregated from the nearby Mexican towns.  Mexican culture was an influence on him and the rest of the Mennonites in northern Mexico.

For various reasons, my maternal grandfather decided to join a group of Mennonites that continued on from Mexico and settled in Belize (formerly British Honduras), where my mother was born.

They moved back to northern Mexico within a few years and my mom also grew up in the Mennonite colonies in Chihuahua.

After my parents married, they took advantage of their Canadian citizenship and lived in various provinces in Canada.  They eventually settled in southern Manitoba with me & my 4 siblings in the mid-1980's.

My ties to Mexico were strengthened when my wife & I went to Puerto Vallarta on our 10th anniversary.

I told her that we would live there in the winters when we semi-retired.  She laughed at the idea and said that you can't live where you go on vacation, to which I replied, why not?

During Covid, we had the opportunity to rent a house for one winter in Bucerías just north of Puerto Vallarta.  We fell in love with that lifestyle.

We sold our larger house in Manitoba; bought a house in Bucerías, Mexico; and have now bought a smaller house in Manitoba.

Our move-to-Mexico journey with links to the social media pages where there are lots of photos & videos can be found on the website I had created for that:

MoveToBanderasBay.com

We made the transition from living in Canada year round to living part time in Mexico and part time in Canada.

Because we have dual citizenship, we can travel easily between our two countries.

My Personal Faith Story
In February 2025, I went with LeaderImpact Canada to Guatemala on one of their Global Exchange trips.

Up until that point, I had never even thought of writing or sharing a faith story about myself.

When I went on that trip, we had to prepare a business topic, a personal faith story, and with permission, share the gospel message of Jesus Christ.

I had done public speaking before and didn't have a problem with the business part of my talk.  In fact, I knew the exact story that would resonate well with my audience, which was about one of my biggest business failures.

However, I struggled with the personal faith story part of my talk.  Until one evening on one of our weekly Zoom meetings, Dan Loney, our keynote speaker for our group, shared his personal faith story.

That was the inspiration that I needed!  It led to me writing & sharing the story in the video below:

This story is very personal to me and I am taking a risk by sharing it publicly here.  I hope that it resonates with you.
